Pipe Shoes to be Shipped to South Africa
Pipe Shoes to be Shipped to South AfricaThese pre-insulated pipe supports were manufactured for a Houston based engineering and construction company to complete an on-going project in South Africa. The polyurethane foam insulation is wrapped with a vapor barrier to prevent moisture, and the ends are coated with a monolar mastic paint to seal the pores. The carbon steel fabrication that surrounds the insulation has an elaborate three-coat paint system to help protect the steel from corrosion. This design allows for an integral combination of insulation and structural support in one pipe support assembly. It also minimizes labor in the field in regards to the installation of insulation.

Hot Shoe for a Refining Company

Hot Shoe for a Refining CompanyThis hot shoe was fabricated from carbon steel, calcium silicate and Firetemp®. Firetemp® is the insulation that carries the load of the pipe. In addition, calcium silicate was also used because it has a lower density, making it a better insulator. This shoe is used as a pipe support and can handle temperatures of up to 1,200F. It measures at 73 in diameter with 5 insulation and weighs 2,391lbs. This hot shoe was expedited in one week per customers request.

Horizontal Upthrust Constants for a Power Plant

Horizontal Upthrust Constants for a Power PlantThe horizontal upthrust constants (Fig. PTP200-U) were fabricated from carbon steel and chrome-moly for a Heat Recovery Steam Generator. The constants range in sizes PTP-200 size 3 to 65 and weigh from 24 lbs to 1,300 lbs. They support loads of 100 lbs to 8,100 lbs. The constants support pipes and equipment subjected to vertical movement due to thermal expansion at locations where transfer of stress to other supports or equipment can be critical. Horizontal upthrust constants are utilized in areas where horizontal travel is unacceptable. Standard testing was completed for performance and quality assurance.
