100 Type F Vertical Constant Supports

These are constants known as 100 type F vertical constant supports. They support pipe from below by means of a sway strut. They are fabricated from A36 carbon steel and hot dipped galvanized to prevent rusting. The constant in the first picture maintains a constant load of 7,000 lb. while the constant in the second picture maintains a load of 9,000 lb. on the pipe throughout its 4” of total travel. They are 36” high with two gussets at the base plate to prevent the coil housing from collapsing under test loading and normal operation. Standard load and travel testing was performed on the constant to insure proper field operation.

80 ft. wide Cantilevered Canopy for an International Project

Piping Technology & Products, Inc. fabricated a Cantilevered Canopy for the entrance of an International State Department building. The Canopy was fabricated using ten 20-foot long girders. These girders were connected by sixty-three structural steel members. Together, they formed the 80-foot width of the Canopy. The wooden sheathing and architectural cladding that is supported by the canopy’s inner steel structure was installed at the construction site.

The fabricated girders and structural members combined weight exceeds 33,000 lb.

Piping Technology & Products also supplied the steel framing that supports the sheathing and cladding, roof drains and piping installed inside the canopy.

Structural Pipe Hangers for a Pipe Seismic Restraint Project

Structural Pipe Hangers for a Pipe Seismic Restraint Project in CaliforniaPiping Technology & Products, Inc. and its wholly owned subsidiary, Pipe Shields, Inc. designed and fabricated many structural pipe hangers for an on-going project to rebuild the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge. The pipe hangers are made out of A-36 carbon steel and galvanized to withstand corrosion from the ocean waters and rough winds. These pipe supports will be welded to Pipe Shields’ C Model Anchor Plates, which are set in a cast concrete to the bottom cavity of the bridge.

Structural Pipe Hangers for a Pipe Seismic Restraint Project in CaliforniaSupports pictured utilize friction holding devices known as MegaLug®, which permit attachment to the pipes without welding. These supports were designed and fabricated to include improvements in regard to strength and durability to withstand high loads during earthquakes and other seismic events.
