Stock Upthrust Constants Modified with an Auxillary Platform

Posted by Justin L on Jan 16, 2012

200 U-Type Constant Spring Supports Designed for Large Spring Coils.

These 200 U-Type constant spring supports were modified to increase their installed height by adding a secondary plate and angles, which will be welded to the structural beam. The constants range in size from 25" to 27" in height, 52" to 67" in length, and 25" in width. Their load capacities range from 10,300 lb. to 13,000 lb. with vertical movement ranging from 3" to 4-1/2". All constants were fabricated from A-36 carbon steel, and went through standard load and travel testing per MSS Standards prior to shipment. Custom Constant Spring Hangers and Pipe Clamps

The constant spring hangers are manufactured from A36 carbon steel and have custom 4-bolt pipe clamps due to heavy loads. The dimensions are 40" length x 18" width x 85" height and are designed for a 1,784 lb. load with 10" of travel. The constants will be used to support radiant inlet manifolds and have a unique paint applied due to the highly corrosive condition. The entire pipe hanger assembly went through load and travel testing prior to shipping.

Vertical F-Type Constants for Power Plant

Posted by Thea Milan on Jul 19, 2002
Vertical F-Type Constants for Power Plant

Vertical F-Type Constants for Power Plant

Piping Technology & Products custom designed and manufactured vertical F-type constants for a power plant in Connecticut.

The 100 type F is a vertical constant designed to support piping from below with minimum space usage. The dimensions of the constant are 26-5/8" high, 10" wide, and 17-9/16" long with an operating load of 280 lbs.

This particular F constant, was unusual in that it was furnished with a vertical spring that attaches below the frame of the constant. In addition to a downward travel of 3", the flange table shifts forward at 1-3/8" to minimize axial movement.

A galvanized finish was applied to the constant to prevent corrosion. The constants can be bolted on or welded to the support or steel underneath.
