F-Type Variable Springs with Slide Plates

PT&P fabricated variable springs from hot-dipped galvanized carbon steel components and a neoprene coated spring steel coil. P.T.F.E. slide plates are welded to the load flange to reduce frictional forces generated during lateral movement of the supported pipe. Internal guides are also installed to help maintain vertical alignment of all moving components throughout the anticipated thermal deflection cycle. The installed (cold) load is set to 10,413 lb. With a design travel of 0.720” up, the final operating (hot) load will be 8,974 lb. Each spring is equipped with travel stops and went through load testing prior to shipping.

72″ I.D. Cryogenic Insulated Supports

PT&P manufactured 72" dia. insulated supports for temperatures as low as -260°F. The insulation is multi-layered comprised of polyurethane foam with a density of 20 PCF, a vapor barrier, an aluminum metal jacket, and acoustic pads. The acoustic pads are installed around the cold shoe to absorb vibration. The base and bearing plates are fabricated from carbon steel. The shoes will be used to support and insulate piping in a receiving & regassification plant and refinery.

Structural Pipe Hangers for a Pipe Seismic Restraint Project

Structural Pipe Hangers for a Pipe Seismic Restraint Project in CaliforniaPiping Technology & Products, Inc. and its wholly owned subsidiary, Pipe Shields, Inc. designed and fabricated many structural pipe hangers for an on-going project to rebuild the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge. The pipe hangers are made out of A-36 carbon steel and galvanized to withstand corrosion from the ocean waters and rough winds. These pipe supports will be welded to Pipe Shields’ C Model Anchor Plates, which are set in a cast concrete to the bottom cavity of the bridge.

Structural Pipe Hangers for a Pipe Seismic Restraint Project in CaliforniaSupports pictured utilize friction holding devices known as MegaLug®, which permit attachment to the pipes without welding. These supports were designed and fabricated to include improvements in regard to strength and durability to withstand high loads during earthquakes and other seismic events.

Hot Shoe for a Refining CompanyThis hot shoe was fabricated from carbon steel, calcium silicate and Firetemp®. Firetemp® is the insulation that carries the load of the pipe. In addition, calcium silicate was also used because it has a lower density, making it a better insulator. This shoe is used as a pipe support and can handle temperatures of up to 1,200F. It measures at 73 in diameter with 5 insulation and weighs 2,391lbs. This hot shoe was expedited in one week per customers request.
