These air inlet stacks were designed for 25 PSIG and 100 deg. F. Each inlet air stack was fabricated from A106-B carbon steel. They are 20 in diameter x 624 long. Each stack weighs 4,395 lb. To ensure product quality, the Inlet Air Stacks were galvanized externally and internally.

This (PTP-13) size horizontal E-type constant is for an energy plant in Iowa. It measures 14" 9" 24" with a total travel range of 5" and an operating load of 388 lbs. It is fabricated out of A36 carbon steel, and weighs 95 lbs. Standard load and travel testing were performed on the constant prior to shipping to ensure quality.

Sweco Fab, Inc. recently fabricated an Air Receiver Tank for a Manufacturing Facility in Alabama. This 5,400 lbs tank measured 60" 143" tangent to tangent and was designed for 170 PSIG and 200 F. It was fabricated from SA516-70 carbon steel. The interior and exterior were painted with standard epoxy paint to provide an interior lining and exterior protection. The tank was hydrotested at 221 PSIG to ensure product quality.

Positive Anchor Hot Shoe for Oil Refinery

The hot shoes were constructed using high temperature insulation made from calcium silicate, lined with a ceramic fiber blanket in a steel cradle (A36 Carbon Steel). The shoes were designed for 1500 F and a vertical load range between 25,000 lbs and 32,000 lbs, and the BOP was 10". The overall diameter including 7" of insulation is 49 7/8". Belleville washers are used to hold bolt tension in pipeline with high frequency vibration.

Piping Technology and Products, Inc. recently fabricated and designed several sliding cold shoes with lateral restraint for a river site in Georgia. The sliding cold shoes have a frame of A36 carbon steel. These were designed to support pipes of 14 to 36 in diameter, insulated with 4.5 to 5 in thick layers of polyurethane foam.

Eight Custom-Built Variable Springs for a Power Plant


All of the spring components are made of A4150H and carbon steel. Per customer's request, a two coat epoxy paint was applied to the springs. The Type-A variable spring assemblies measure 22" x 79" with an installed load of 45,000 lb., operating load of 56,000 lb., and a downward travel of 5". The Type-C assemblies measure 22" x 89" with an installation load of 38,000 lb., operating load of 47,000 lb., and a downward travel of 5 1/2". Each spring coil was tested to insure the wire diameter, coil height, and spring rates.
